IMPORTANT BABY SAFETY CARE TIPS

Baby safety care is a very important topic for parents. In order to ensure that your baby is safe, you must follow closely the baby safety care checklist provided below:

 Location  Things to be done
 Throughout your house

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Put covers over plug sockets that are not in use. 
  2. Avoid loing dangling flexes especially on lamps and iron. 
  3. Put plastic bags and breakable items at places where your baby/child cannot reach. 
  4. Secure windows with locks. 
  5. Avoid sharp-edged furniture. 
  6. Keep iron and ironing board out of your child's reach. 
 Living Room

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Check and remove poisonous houseplants. 
  2. Make sure that all the shelves are secured. 
  3. Do not leave any hot or heavy items on a low table or shelf. 
 Hall and Stairs

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Do not leave anything on the stairs. 
  2. Fit safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. 
  3. If the stairs is carpeted, ensure that the carpet is well fitted so that you and your child will not trip on it. 
  4. Make sure that the banisters are secure and the gaps between the banisters rails should be bot more than 10cm to avoid your child from falling through there. 
 Kitchen

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Always stay with your child while he/she is eating in case he/she chokes. 
  2. Keep your cutlery and sharp objects in a drawer or places where your child cannot reach. 
  3. Keep the floor clean and mop up any spills straight away. 
  4. Turn off all electrical items. 
  5. Keep pet food bowls at places where your child cannot reach. 
 Bedroom

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Never leave your baby alone on a changing table. 
  2. Do not put toys with string that are longer than 30cm in his/her cot. 
  3. Always ensure that the cot sides are up when your baby is in the cot. 
  4. If your child is able to sit up, put mattress height as low as possible. 
 Bathroom (Bathing)

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Do not leave your child alone in the bath. 
  2. Pour cold water in first and then add hot water when running a bath for your child. 
  3. Put a non-slip mat in your bath. 
  4. Close the toilet lid. 
 Play Areas

 Baby Safety Care Techniques include:

  1. Separate toys for older children and toys for younger children. 
  2. Do not leave toys lying around on the floor and throw away toys that are broken. 
  3. Do not leave toys at places which will tempt them to climb up and get them.
